We can provide a comprehensive range of Network Solutions to blue chip clients, in a range of industries. This has placed us at the forefront of the IT solutions market.
Our highly trained Technical Consultants have extensive experience in providing cabling solutions to a broad range of clients, providing a high level of expertise and a keen interest in our clients needs.
The main cabling types that we deal with include:
- Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Cable
- Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) Cable
- Coaxial Cable
- Fibre Optic Cable
- Wireless LANs
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Cable
The quality of UTP may vary from telephone-grade wire to extremely high-speed cable. This cable has four pairs of wires inside the jacket. Each pair is twisted with a different number of twists per inch to help eliminate interference from adjacent pairs and other electrical devices. The tighter the twisting, the higher the supported transmission rate. A disadvantage of UTP is that it may be susceptible to radio and electrical frequency interference.
Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) Cable
Shielded twisted pair (STP) is suitable for environments with electrical interference; however, the extra shielding can make the cables quite bulky. Shielded twisted pair is often used on networks using Token Ring topology.
Coaxial Cable
Coaxial cabling has a single copper conductor at its centre. A plastic layer provides insulation between the centre conductor and a braided metal shield. The metal shield helps to block any outside interference from fluorescent lights, motors, and other computers. Although coaxial cabling is difficult to install, it is highly resistant to signal interference. In addition, it can support greater cable lengths between network devices than twisted pair cable
Wireless LANs
Not all networks are connected with cabling; some networks are wireless. Wireless LANs (local area networks) use high frequency radio signals, infrared light beams, or lasers to communicate between the workstations and the file server or hubs. Information is relayed between transceivers as if they were physically connected.
Installing Wireless means minimal disruption to the working environment. It eliminates the need to pull cable through walls and ceilings and can be carried out quickly and efficiently. One thing to bear in mind is that Wireless is complimentary to your existing LAN infrastructure. It's not recommended as a direct replacement for your existing cabling. We can install your Wireless LAN solution for you. Prices for installation are dependent on the site survey. Depending on location, site surveys are normally carried out free of charge.
Fibre Optic Cable
Fibre Optic Cable is ideal for certain environments that contain a large amount of electrical interference. It is also the standard used for connecting networks between buildings, due to its immunity to the effects of moisture and lighting.
Because of the low loss, high bandwidth properties of fibre cables, they can be used over greater distances than coaxial and twisted pair cables, in data networks this can be as much as 2 km without the use of repeaters. Their light weight and small size also make them ideal for applications where running copper cables would be impractical, by using multiplexors one fibre could replace hundreds of copper cables.
Fibre Optic Cables also have the capability to carry information at vastly greater speeds. This capacity broadens communication possibilities to include services such as video conferencing and interactive services

Outsourcing technology and operation risks to a security partner is an attractive and cost effective way for a business to address security management. We are staffed and resourced to deal with such challenges on behalf of our customers giving them the best chance of beating potential hackers, criminals and online burglars. It is crucial to view security as an ongoing process and to have regular reviews of you security measures and policies.
As an essential part of your security precautions, we are able to provide key products and services including:
- Firewalls
- Packet Filter
- Application Gateway
- Circuit-level Gateway
- Proxy Server
- Remote Access Server (RAS) Security
- Security Audits
- SecureScan Perimeter
Firewalls
A firewall is a system that enforces an access control policy between two networks. Firewalls are considered the first line of defence in protecting private information, designed to prevent unauthorised access to or from a private network; firewalls can be implemented in both hardware and software, or a combination of both. We can supply, manage and implement a firewall fully tailored to meet your requirements.
There are several types of firewall techniques we can provide, which in practice may use two or more in execution:
- Packet Filter: looks at each packet entering or leaving the network and accepts or rejects it based on user-defined rules. Packet filtering is fairly effective and transparent to users, but it is difficult to configure. In addition, it is susceptible to IP spoofing.
- Application Gateway: applies security mechanisms to specific applications, such as FTP and Telnet servers. This is very effective, but can impose performance degradation.
- Circuit-level Gateway: applies security mechanisms when a TCP or UDP connection is established. Once the connection has been made, packets can flow between the hosts without further checking.
- Proxy Server: intercepts all messages entering and leaving the network. The proxy server effectively hides the true network addresses.
Remote Access Server Security
A Remote Access Server (RAS) has now become one of the most important capabilities for any business to access its network. Mobile users, users at remote sites, business partners and a host of others need remote access to get their jobs done. The remote access server allows users to gain access to files and print services on the LAN (local area network) from a remote location. Once the user is authenticated they can access shared drives and printers as if they were physically connected to the office LAN. We can supply, manage and implement RAS security fully tailored to meet your requirements.
Some of the advantages of RAS security include:
- Out of hours access to your network
- Hot desking – working from any desk in the building
- Increased productivity
- Greater use of security
- Secure customer access to Intranet
- Remote IT network management
Security Auditing
SecureScan Perimeter is an on-demand Internet security assessment service that provides a detailed report of how vulnerable an organisations Internet connections are. Based on this we can put together reports, which provide a constructive means of starting or enhancing an Internet security policy. SercureScan contributes to the dialogue by providing complete and clear documentation that everyone can understand.
SecureScan is a service not a product; delivering much more than competitors port scans. After identifying all open ports, we can with the help of SecureScan verify reported services and protocols and then intelligently evaluate the results to create a vulnerability test tuned to the specific system being tested.
