Application Server and Network Hardware

We can supply, configure and install the full range and types of hardware recommended by the Deutsche Börse, for use with their application gateway.

Operating System Implementation

Our qualified Unix Consultants are able to install and configure the operating system to match your server hardware configuration. The hardware will be placed on test and will be approved by us after completion of the rigorous quality control procedures. We will then configure the appropriate hubs and routers using a qualified network consultant to ensure optimum performance throughout your environment. Any relevant network alterations to the operating system configuration are also included.

Application Installation

The special application, supplied by the Deutsche Börse to provide a secure high-speed gateway to the exchange, is called the GATE software (“Generic Access To Exchange”). This software together with appropriate hardware becomes a MISS (“Member Integration System Server”). A “MISS Group” is the standard solution to provide full fail-over capability for a trading system. We can provide a package solution for the full set-up and implementation of a MISS Group.

MITS provides 24x7 support for:

• Communications Maintenance

• GATE (Generic Access To Exchange) Application Support

We provide vendor independent services, and will take ownership of a problem until a successful resolution is achieved. It may be applicable to utilise more than one of our service partners to facilitate your business continuity plan, with us you have this choice. Providing the best of all service partners and yet one single point of contact for simplicity of service delivery. The MITS service is provided 24 hours by 7 days a week.

We have a complete package solution to provide upgrade assistance for the major Eurex and Xetra upgrades; which usually takes place over weekends.

MITS provides support for the following Upgrade Assistance Services:

• On-site support on a Friday evening (after Trading hours) OR Saturday morning
• Complete implementation on each individual MISS (Member Integration System Server)
• Assistance with implementation on client workstations
• Availability of engineering staff for the ‘testing window’
• Engineering staff on-call (based in the city) from 6am on the following Monday

This package includes all Operating System configuration and implementation of the MISS environment. Where necessary, we will also configure and modify any communication devices.

Monday morning proved a very difficult time, as our servers were not connecting to the Eurex/Xetra exchanges as expected. I am sure you can appreciate the financial implications to a financial investment company when its systems are not fully efficient.

The support call was placed at approx 6:30 and I received a call from the duty manager within two minutes qualifying the nature of the call. A technician was assigned and on the case immediately. The problem was a fairly simple one, as I was told, but nevertheless the speed and expertise I received was paramount to the need.
